Thanks for your time in advance. I am new to the Oracle database environment. I am looking for a solution to mask Personally Identifiable Information in my organization's non-production environments. My research has landed me with two out of box solutions, Oracle Redaction and the Oracle Data masking pack. The Oracle Data Masking solution seems to be the best fit for our organization. We are in the process of creating a proposal for this solution. We want a solution that does not require cloning or user permissions to access the PII. The optimal solution will mask the data while maintaining integrity and dependencies. On the flip side, we have toyed the option of creating an organic data masking solution using scripts. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to find a solid resource surrounding implementing an organic script solution.
What are your experiences implementing a organic solution vs. a out-of-box solution? What does the workflow of implementing a organic data masking solution look like?
