My degree is CIS & Classical Studies - the art and history of all those "dead" languages people still use, like CoBOL, FORTRAN, Latin & Greek. Given the choice, I'll write it in bash. Given the freedom to choose a more complete solution, I'll build a set of utilities in Perl and use Ansible to leverage that. Yes, I'll use Python if that's what the shop needs.
Free time not spent with family is Tabletop RPG's I find a good group - otherwise it's video games or reading, telling tall tales or eating something worthwhile. I grew up in the South where FOOD=LOVE but I adore culturally diverse and authentic restaurants.
I do not work with hardware OR code at home unless it's for my wife.
