Use Linux Mint or Ubuntu, prefer the newer Cinnamon interface. Thanks to Virtual Machines, 'Windows' is a window on my system.

For the programming tools like PhpStorm, Sublime Text 3, MySQL Workbench, Vagrant.

Also good with Eclipse, SQL Developer.
