Got my first account on the internet in 1992 on SGI Irix and SunOS boxes, then later in the 90s added experience with HP-UX and AIX, all before getting a Computer Engineering BS in 2002. Since then I've worked with everything from real-time sonar processing to online marketplace web apps.
