I use this function:

public static void hideSoftInput(Context ctx)
{
    InputMethodManager inputManager = (InputMethodManager) ctx.getSystemService(INPUT_METHOD_SERVICE);
    inputManager.hideSoftInputFromWindow(new View(ctx).getWindowToken(), 0);
}

For your particular case, you can use this:

    location_entered.setOnKeyListener(new View.OnKeyListener()
    {
        @Override
        public boolean onKey(View v, int keyCode, KeyEvent event)
        {
            if (event.getKeyCode() == KeyEvent.KEYCODE_ENTER)
            {
                // code to hide the soft keyboard
                InputMethodManager imm = (InputMethodManager) getSystemService(
                    Context.INPUT_METHOD_SERVICE);
                imm.hideSoftInputFromWindow(v.getApplicationWindowToken(), 0);
            }
            return false;
        }
    });

after this part on your onCreate:

  location_entered.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {

Easy way to do this...

      getWindow().setSoftInputMode(
      WindowManager.LayoutParams.SOFT_INPUT_STATE_ALWAYS_HIDDEN);
