Appian is suggesting a folder structure which cuts diagonally through the Appian design objects diagram:
In other words, it is considered good style to have a folder tree like the following:
+ myProcessModel
+ myRulesAndConstants
|-- myInterfaces
|-- myQueries
|-- myExpressions
|-- myConstants
|-- myDecisions
`-- myIntegrations
+ myDocuments
+ myGroups
For those not familiar in Appian, just image all boxes in the diagram as a data type, and I am principle saying that Appian is suggesting to manage security by datatype. (I hope I am abstracting this correctly).
I understand that the driver for folders in Appian is that security is managed folder-based.
- Is a security approach based on folder-hierachies following some IT-framework or theoretical concept?, e.g. something based on ITIL or COBIT?
- Are there other programming language with a similar concept?
- What would be appropriate search terms if I am interested in this topic?
