I know that on the MySQL website there's much information about it and official documentation although I'm looking for a recipe on how-to upgrade MySQL.

If someone could point a blog, website or a document to it will be great!

Details:

  • Linux (Oracle Linux/RedHat, Debian ) Latest Versions.
  • Upgrade Map MySQL 5.0 to 5.6. (5.0 to 5.1, 5.1 to 5.5 and 5.5 to 5.6)
  • Master and Slave Replication Enviroment

I appreciate all information given.

Thank you !

This is probably better suited to _ServerFault_, but on the other hand, they'll probably ask what you've already done to solve this. Can you dump all your databases from 5.0 and reimport into a fresh installation of 5.6? Consider whether downtime is acceptable for you, and how much. I should think the MySQL manual has notes on this topic, btw. – halfer Apr 23 '14 at 10:50
