Paraview cannot open large *.e files(windows 7): Could not retrieve time values

when I open large Exodus files(*.e) (for example, 5GB) in Paraview 4.0.1 (windows 7, 64 bit, 32GB RAM), I met this mistake:

ERROR:

In C:\DBD\pvs-x64\paraview\src\paraview\VTK\IO\Exodus\vtkExodusIIReader.cxx, line 3522
vtkExodusIIReaderPrivate (000000000C0D27B0): Could not retrieve time values.

But I can open 2GB *.e files normally. And I have tried to open a 17GB *.e file on a Mac with paraview 4.0.1 as well, and it works. Could anyone tell me why this happen and how can I fix the problem in windows?

No, it is a 64-it paraview version. My friend have helped me solved it by installing a linux system and link it to windows system by virtual box. – Bo Peng Jul 18 '14 at 15:07
